Family STEAM invites young children (babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their big helper older siblings) and their grown-ups to dive into a world of science, creativity, and wonder—together. Each month, a themed “Mystery Box” kicks off the session, sparking imagination and inviting children to explore hands-on STEAM activities designed just for their age group.

Whether it's making simple machines, testing chemical reactions, or building with everyday objects, this class turns curiosity into joyful learning and exploration for the whole family.

These classes are offered exclusively at Avis South Shore JCC during the cooler weather fall to winter months only.

FAMILY STEAM CLASS TESTIMONIALS

  • "My kids went nuts here. They had so much fun making volcanoes and stomping around with dino feet. We've done the STEM class, play class and the Thanksgiving themed art class. Definitely a great way for us to get out with the kids and do something different!"

    - Kristen D.

  • "I love the structure of the class. My son as been singing 'Mystery Box' all day!"

    - Kelly B.

  • "The gingerbread STEAM class was genius! Chemistry, structural building and sensory integration all in one. Doing the Gingerbread Cookie Dance put it over the top. We love how creative and appropriate this class is for all ages."

    -Paula E.

  • "Miss Kaitlynn makes the best science class appropriate for all ages. At first, I thought my wife was out of her mind to suggest taking our 10 month old to this class. She spoke with Miss Kaitlynn, who let us know exact what benefits our daughter would get at this age. She was so engaged unlike anything we've seen before. This woman knows what she is doing. Thank you again for this class!
